Outside the theatre / Found the Phoenix theatre where Once is playing and the queens theatre home to Les Miserables two of my favourite shows / Chinatown / Chinese shop window / Shaftesbury Avenue / Waiting for Matilda to start
Months and months ago me and my best friend decided to book an 'alternative' girls holiday and we booked to go to London with a local coach trip to see Matilda and go to the Harry Potter studio tour!
On the 18th August the day finally came and we got up at what felt like the crack of dawn to journey up to London to see Matilda the musical . I have always been a huge fan of musicals but living so far away from London often have to rely on bootlegs of my favourites . I know I'm not supposed to but i do have a rule that i will only watch a bootleg if i know that there is no chance of me ever seeing the musical because it has closed, if it is on Broadway and is unlikely to transfer or if i have already seen the musical live and want to relive it again.
We had over an hour to ourselves before Matilda started so we done a bit of exploring but didn't stray too far in fear of getting lost so we just carried on in a straight line and to our complete surprise stumbled across china town, lets just say we were very pleased with ourselves !
The musical itself was absolutely AMAZING..... In some parts you wanted to laugh and others you wanted to cry. We saw Chloe Hawthorne as Matilda and she and the rest of the children are so talented it is hard to believe. Lately all i seem to do is walk around the house singing songs from the show, they are so catchy and clever.
I'm rambling on a bit know but i could seriously go on forever about how good the musical is , when it finished we headed over to planet Hollywood for some burger and chips and are day came to a nice relaxing end back in the hotel.
Day 2 post coming soon !
Whats your favourite musical?
